ENERGY STAR^® Programs

One area where NYSBA REF has taken the lead in environmentally friendly building is through its partnership with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) to promote the New York ENERGY STAR^® Labeled Homes Program for new construction and the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR^® Program for remodelers.

The Labeled Homes program provides incentives to qualified builders to produce homes that are more energy efficient and provide greater comfort, durability, and value while the Home Performance Program provides similar incentives to certified remodelers interested in upgrading homes to include energy efficient heating, air conditioning, insulation, windows, doors, lighting and appliances.

ENERGY STAR^® was introduced by the US Environmental Protection Agency in 1992 as a voluntary market-based partnership to reduce air pollution through increased energy efficiency. Today, with assistance from the Department of Energy, the ENERGY STAR^® program offers businesses and consumers energy-efficient solutions to save energy, money and help protect the environment for future generations. More than 7,000 organizations have become ENERGY STAR^® partners and are committed to improving the energy efficiency of products, homes and businesses.

To download the necessary forms for the 2006/07 program year, please click here. If you have previously signed and submitted the EPA agreement, you will not have to do this again. In order to participate in the ENERGY STAR^® Labeled Homes Program in the 2006/07 program year, you will have to sign and submit TWO copies of the signature page from the 2006/07 Addendum to the ENERGY STAR Partnership Agreement. You will find the address where to mail them on the bottom of signature page of the addendum. FAXES ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
